There are also some cool interviews with people who worked on the game. There are various options for the games such as lives, difficulty, and so on. There is a soundtrack that you can listen to as well. You have what is basically an art museum where you can view some of the fantastic artwork that makes up this amazing series. The extra features that this collection offers are quite good. The Nintendo Wii version runs at a higher resolution than the Neo-geo original and I found there to be no screen tearing, frame rate issues, or anything like that. The Neo-Geo was known for its amazing graphical capabilities back in the day and I think that while they have not made any grand changes to these games, the “ports” are very well done and look great. the PSP version of Metal Slug Anthology does have co-op, but you have to use a cable to do so. These are the kind of games that are just a great deal of fun to throw on if you are looking for something fun in local co-op. I have played it with my friends, but the most fun I have had with this is playing through the games with my son. I have played through all of these games multiple times over the years. However, the PS2 version is also great, but the Wii is my go-to. The Nintendo Wii version of Metal Slug Anthology is my personal favorite as it has the best controller configuration options. The games play fantastically well, these are run and gun style shooters and they are hard as nails, but they are fair. I am sure some hard-core fans will notice some slight difference, but for me (and I do love this series) these games are just how I remember playing them in my arcade.

The “emulation” that is on offer here in Metal Slug Anthology is great. The games are pretty much arcade perfect from what I have experienced. These are some of the best run and gun shooters that have ever been made and having them all here in one collection is truly awesome. In this collection, you are getting, Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5, and Metal Slug 6. In Metal Slug Anthology, you are getting a truly epic collection of games from a franchise that is just awesome. Granted, the series is not exactly story heavy, but I have always got a kick out of what is going on here. I have always been a fan of the war and sci-fi story that the Metal Slug series has told. There were also versions released for the PSP and the PC, but from what I understand the PC version is missing a few features and the PSP clearly does not have local co-op.

Just imagine the cost of buying all of the games that are on this collection for the Neo-Geo! It would be thousands of dollars! The game originally was released for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii and I actually have both of these games in my collection. I am a huge fan of this series and when the Metal Slug Anthology was released, I was very excited.
